About the role

The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at California State University Channel Islands seeks to cultivate a learning environment that fosters excellence in business and economics education to prepare students to effectively engage with the ever-changing dynamics of organizational landscapes. Faculty members in the school follow a teacher/scholar model in accordance with AACSB standards.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one or more classes as assigned and as student demand allows.
  • Conduct and turn in assessment activities as outlined each semester.

Requirements

Minimum Degree Requirements: Masters degree with a focus on Ethics, Business, or in a related field.

Required Qualifications: The minimum degree requirements stated above; Demonstrated preparation for teaching Business Ethics at a university level; Applicants should demonstrate the commitment to effectively work with and engage a diverse student population and evidence of how they would successfully mentor minoritized students with special focus on Latinx, Black/African American, American Indian, and Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Ethics, Management, or a PhD in a related discipline;
  • 5+ years full-time work experience;
  • Work/consulting experience in private or public sector related to Ethics or Business & Economics;
  • A record of effective teaching with a variety of methodologies.

Pay

Placement into a range is based on qualifications and experience. Initial assignments are typically at the bottom third of the salary range.
