Location: Bedford – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary: Between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

Hours: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Business to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group.

  • Business Teaching & Assessment - Deliver and assess Levels 1 to 3 Business qualifications, including BTECs and T Levels in Management, Administration, Marketing, and Accounting, ensuring students meet awarding body standards.
  • Student Support & Achievement - Provide high-quality teaching, tutorials, progress monitoring, and pastoral support to help students achieve their potential, meet deadlines, and successfully complete their programmes.
  • Curriculum Development & Innovation - Develop engaging learning materials, review schemes of work, contribute to new course development, and promote innovative teaching practices that enhance the student learning experience.
  • Quality Assurance & Professional Collaboration - Maintain accurate student records and reports, participate in verification, moderation, course reviews, team meetings, mentoring, and continuous improvement activities across the department.
  • College Engagement & Compliance - Support open days, interviews, examinations, employer engagement, and cross-campus activities while promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging learning materials and apply vocational experience to teaching.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively and support learners to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain records, monitor and analyse data, meet deadlines, and complete student and course administration.
  • Implement quality assurance processes effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, uphold College values, and maintain a professional reputation.
  • Commit to safeguarding, health and safety, continuous professional development, and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Work flexibly across College locations as required.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in a business-related subject.
  • Industry experience within a business environment.
  • Strong English and maths skills.
  • Ability to create engaging learning materials and apply vocational experience to teaching.
  • Experience in maintaining records, monitoring and analysing data, and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, and continuous professional development.
