The U.S. and Canadian Markets (USCM) team is driving a comprehensive transformation across sales, risk, technology, and operations, reimagining how we drive growth and scale our impact. As a Business Director-Chief of Staff, you are the architect of execution, serving as the primary thought partner to the SVP of USCM and a force multiplier for one of our most critical businesses. This high-visibility, high-impact role is designed for those who thrive at the intersection of complex strategy and rapid operational delivery. You will drive the strategic intent of the department, navigate a matrixed organization to solve ambiguous, high-stakes problems, and own the "rhythm of the business" for the senior leadership team. Success is measured by the tangible impact you drive across cross-functional workstreams, executive narratives, and enterprise initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Translate business strategies to drive growth, alignment, and a well-managed environment in the face of a shifting payments landscape.
  • Manage and sequence delivery of business intent; oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across the Global Payment Network, including product, technology, strategy, finance, and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitability.
  • Apply a strategic, analytic orientation with a proven track record of decision-making and problem-solving based on analytics. Complement conceptual thinking with a strong quantitative orientation, given the business’s reliance on rigorous analytic marketing and credit risk management.
  • Demonstrate strong business judgment, leadership, and integrity, bringing a tenacious, aggressive, yet responsible approach to business.
  • Exhibit impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Display an intense focus on achieving both short- and long-term goals, executing an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis.
  • At least 4 years of experience performing qualitative analysis.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing people management.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in financial services.
  • 1+ year of experience in consulting.

Pay

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed-upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

  • McLean, VA: $230,400 - $263,000 for Business Director.
  • Riverwoods, IL: $209,500 - $239,100 for Business Director.
  • Chicago, IL: $209,500 - $239,100 for Business Director.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. This role is also eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
