Business Development Specialist
About the Role
The Business Development Specialist – Markets is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development (BD) team. This role will be responsible for playing a key role across the full marketing and business development spectrum to support the Chicago and Latin America markets and work closely with the office BD team, while building a strong relationship with the local BD Manager and collaborating to support the partners, counsel, and associates in the assigned office to establish a role as a markets trusted resource. This role will be located in either our Chicago or New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Work with local BD Managers to assist in planning, execution, and evaluation of Business Development and Marketing initiatives and business plans in our Chicago and Latin America markets
- Plan and assist with office event initiatives, cross-selling, and client-targeting initiatives as it relates to local markets
- Work with various teams such as BD Core, New Business Team, Creative, Events & Sponsorships, Marketing Technology, Library & Research, Alumni, Brand & Communications, and Financial Insights & Consulting in the delivery of information on client intelligence, research, pitch information, events, and lawyer materials
- Assist in monitoring office initiatives with key account clients in the market
- Act as the go-to resource for office BD needs and support
- Protect and maintain any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
Qualifications
- Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to interact with people at all organizational levels
- Possess the ability to take initiative and work both independently and in a team environment with a customer-service focus
- Display organizational skills to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in marketing, business development, office administration, or other related functions

Pay
USD $85,000.00 – USD $95,000.00 /Yr.
