Business Development Representative, Industrial

Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the Industrial market across the Atlantic region while supporting new or existing clients nationwide. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems, and a background in sales or networking, including an understanding of industrial facilities planning and the A/E industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic business development plan focused on the growth and expansion of the local and national industrial market.
  • Initiate contact with decision-makers such as C-Suite executives, facility directors, and maintenance managers.
  • Build long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and general contractors to position the firm for future opportunities.
  • Identify upcoming projects, RFPs, and partnership opportunities through market research and networking.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking functions to expand the firm's visibility.
  • Track and report on business development activities, project pipeline, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, design, engineering) to develop compelling proposals and presentations.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years' experience in business development, preferably within the A/E industry.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing client relationships and contracts.
  • Familiarity with design and construction processes.
  • Experience with CRM tools and proposal development platforms.

Skills

  • Experience developing contacts and maintaining client networks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Schedule

  • Travel: 75% (50% overnight).

Work Environment

  • Prolonged time driving.
  • Exposure to outside elements when traveling.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk while working on a computer.
