Business Development Representative
About the role
The Business Development Representative at POOLCORP is responsible for identifying and negotiating strategic relationships with current customers and developing new business relationships. They prospect for potential new clients within the pool and spa retail, builder, and maintenance sectors, make professional presentations, and close sales.
Responsibilities
- Possesses 2+ years of professional-level business-to-business sales experience.
- Has a proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment.
- Can cold call on prospective clients.
- Has a strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping / irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods.
- Holds a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Willing to occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL.
- Knowledge of AMP or similar customer management system preferred.
- Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of experience in professional-level business-to-business sales.
A proven track record of successful sales in a wholesale environment.
Ability to cold call on prospective clients.
A strong knowledge of one or more of the following product lines: pool related equipment, plumbing supplies, tile, decking, exterior lighting, patio furniture, construction materials, building supplies, chemicals, landscaping / irrigation supplies, HVAC supplies, or similar tangible goods.
A valid driver’s license, a “satisfactory” driving record (no more than 2 violations within 3 years), and willingness to travel within a designated area.
Occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office WORD and EXCEL.
Knowledge of AMP or similar customer management system preferred.
Knowledge of Prelude or similar inventory control software helpful.
