About the role
The Business Development Representative (BDR) is an associate-level sales position focused on lead generation, qualification, prospecting relationships, and social media marketing initiatives. This role serves as the primary service contact for prospects and clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention while driving revenue growth and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through consistent, productive account calls.
- Upsell programs and services into the current customer base.
- Develop and qualify inbound leads within a specified new potential customer segment in an assigned region.
- Generate new sales opportunities by qualifying marketing-generated demand leads and utilizing outbound tactics to create sales demand with targeted accounts.
- Qualify new business through inbound emails, leads, and calls, engaging in high-level conversations with buyers to identify broader sales opportunities.
- Manage and maintain a pipeline of interested prospects for new customer acquisitions.
- Represent the company by demonstrating and modeling its mission and values.
- Stay informed about new products, programs, and services to apply them appropriately.
- Align corporate solutions with customer business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
- Increase pipeline through demand generation and targeted campaigns for install base accounts.
- Collaborate with the Sales team on sales strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of successful experience as an inside sales representative.
- Proven track record of closing sales to meet or exceed quota.
- Prior experience in a metrics-driven environment.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and adopt successful sales techniques.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and relationship skills.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding assigned annual/quarterly goals.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
