About the role
Business Development Representatives (BDRs) qualify both inbound and outbound sales leads at the top of the sales funnel. You will research potential clients, engage and educate prospects, then hand them off to the closing sales team. Outbound outreach includes cold calls, emails, and social-network touches; inbound work focuses on prospects who have already expressed interest via phone, email, or online requests.
Responsibilities
- Make 75+ calls and/or send 75+ emails per day
- Follow up on inbound marketing leads, identifying qualified opportunities with the right level of detail at the right time
- Educate and develop prospects until they are ready for handoff to the sales team
- Create targeted prospect lists and penetrate key accounts
- Cold-call prospects from a variety of outside sources
- Answer incoming customer calls and route them appropriately
- Identify key decision-makers, research business requirements, and present solutions to start the sales cycle
- Monitor account creation to prevent duplicate accounts
- Set appointments for the Local Sales team when a lead reaches a qualified stage
- Nurture new marketing leads until they are ready to speak with a field sales representative
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams on strategic sales approaches
- Maintain accurate activity and lead-qualification data in the CRM application
