About the role
The Business Development Representative – Automotive Presource is responsible for providing feedback and serving as a liaison to various levels within Sales, Quality, and Applications Engineering concerning future automotive or appliance applications that are being supported. They will also set up new customers and/or ship-to locations, price individual orders prior to order entry, handle order tracking and status reporting, reconcile pricing errors, and ensure that product ships when required.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage material orders from start to finish, guiding customers to make the most appropriate purchases to match their needs
- Provide quotation of material availability, price, and delivery timing via order tracking, status reporting, and expediting as needed
- Strategically locate and reallocate material in inventory as needed to fulfill customer needs, including working with Cleveland-Cliffs’ facilities and outside processors on their production schedules
- Manage Presource inventory by monitoring age, utility, resell/reject materials as needed while maintaining inventory levels and execute held steel disposition, including non-scheduled extra processing (NSEP)
- Work cross-functionally with various departments such as quality on specification clarification, account sales, applications engineers, plant contacts, tech reps, and outside processing
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years relevant work experience in customer service or order management
- Ability to work independently
- Strong problem solving, planning, and decision-making skills
- Results-oriented with emphasis on taking initiative and perseverance and adhering to time schedules
- Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task with a high level of accuracy
- Assumes accountability and takes the initiative
- Strong team player who works well with others internally and externally across functions with people from various levels of a diverse group
- Strong organizational skills
- Effectively communicates with team internally and externally
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Applicants must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or other related field
- Experience in the steel industry
- Proven analytical capabilities
