Business Development Manager – Automotive Aftermarket

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to penetrate new target accounts and expand existing business.
  • Identify new market opportunities through research and industry analysis.
  • Build relationships with customer procurement, engineering, and technical teams.
  • Develop business plans, marketing strategies, and action plans.
  • Identify and secure new business programs.
  • Develop product road maps for sustained profitable growth.
  • Monitor forecasts, bookings, quotations, backlog, and new-business opportunities.
  • Present market trends and critical business metrics to leadership.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to execute growth strategies.
  • Travel moderately as required.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Sales Management within the automotive aftermarket industry.
  • Strong automotive industry network and customer relationships.
  • Proven track record of developing and growing business.
  • Experience working with procurement and engineering organizations.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Engineering or a related management field.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, energetic, aggressive, and detail-oriented.

Product Environment

Products support automotive applications including gear boxes, transfer cases, transmissions, and automotive components.

Important: This is not a traditional parts-counter or small-market sales role. We are specifically seeking someone who has been responsible for developing and growing automotive aftermarket business, building high-level customer relationships, and creating new opportunities.
