About the role

We are seeking a self-driven, energetic, tenacious Business Development Associate for our B2B Flowerbuyer.com business, an online auction-based flower-buying site. You will help grow and develop a portfolio of business with the backing of our top-tier product, industry-wide low prices, in-house flower and logistics experts, and customer service gurus. This is an hourly plus commission position and can be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a high level of rapport and trust with Teleflora and non-Teleflora florists.
  • Call upon and develop relationships with key retail florists via phone and Microsoft Teams to introduce them to our products and the significant savings available through ongoing use.
  • Work with internal departments to provide custom products or solutions to top accounts that have the potential to bring significant volume to your portfolio.
  • Utilize order entry, call tracking, and contact management software.
  • Participate in sales, product, and process training as required.
  • Meet and exceed daily expectations for time spent on telephone selling to florists.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of entering a new industry and building a book of business.
  • Ability to close and manage relationships—both in person and over the phone.
  • Successful track record of new lead generation and ability to overcome customer objections.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset.
  • Strong time management, communication, and execution skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Strong desire to achieve and maintain high levels of both internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Hardworking, creative, open-minded, and driven demeanor with a "can-do attitude".
  • PC literacy required: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of sales experience; floral industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with outbound sales, customer relationship management, or account development preferred.
  • Experience with prospecting, customer retention, objection handling, and reactivating inactive customers is a plus.
