About the role

We are seeking a self-driven, energetic, and tenacious Business Development Associate for our B2B Flowerbuyer.com business. In this role, you will help grow and develop a portfolio of retail florists using Flowerbuyer’s online auction platform. You will leverage our top-tier product, industry-low prices, in-house floral and logistics experts, and customer service team to build lasting relationships, save florists money, and drive business growth. This is an hourly plus commission position and can be remote.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and develop new business to build, grow, and service a portfolio of retail florists using Flowerbuyer.com.
  • Establish a high level of rapport and trust with Teleflora and non-Teleflora florists through phone calls and Microsoft Teams meetings.
  • Introduce florists to Flowerbuyer’s products and the significant savings available through ongoing use.
  • Work with internal departments to provide custom products and solutions for top accounts with high-volume potential.
  • Utilize order entry, call tracking, and contact management software to manage relationships and sales activities.
  • Participate in sales, product, and process training as required.
  • Meet or exceed daily expectations for time spent on telephone sales with florists.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of entering a new industry and building a book of business.
  • Ability to close sales and manage relationships both in person and over the phone.
  • Successful track record of new lead generation and overcoming customer objections.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset with strong time management, communication, and execution skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Strong desire to achieve and maintain high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Hardworking, creative, open-minded, and driven demeanor with a "can-do attitude."
  • PC literacy required: proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of sales experience; floral industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with outbound sales, customer relationship management, or account development preferred.
  • Experience with prospecting, customer retention, objection handling, and reactivating inactive customers is a plus.
