About The Role

The role of Business Data Analyst sits at the intersection of business strategy and engineering, transforming raw transactional data into actionable insights and structured reporting. This position is responsible for demystifying complex data systems to help business leaders make rapid, data-informed decisions. The team works closely with product, finance, and engineering groups to build scalable self-service analytics frameworks. The ideal candidate will be a technical analyst who can write performant SQL, design intuitive dashboards, and communicate narrative-driven insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated dashboards and reporting pipelines in Tableau or Looker to track company-wide KPIs and operational metrics
• Write highly optimized SQL queries to extract, transform, and clean large-scale datasets from cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift
• Partner with product managers and business stakeholders to define critical success metrics, perform root-cause analysis, and identify growth opportunities
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, structured executive-ready presentations and written narratives
• Collaborate with data engineers to define requirements for new data models and schemas, ensuring data governance and quality standards are maintained
• Perform ad-hoc exploratory data analysis using Python or R to investigate business anomalies and validate product feature performance

What We Are Looking For

• 3-6 years of experience working as a data analyst, business analyst, or in a similar quantitative role within a technology company
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including deep understanding of window functions, complex joins, query optimization, and CTEs
• Hands-on experience building production-grade dashboards in modern BI tools, specifically Looker (LookML experience is highly preferred) or Tableau
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling (star schemas), and basic data transformation tools like dbt
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• Bonus: Experience writing Python for data analysis (pandas, NumPy), familiarity with Git workflows, or exposure to financial forecasting models
