Business Data Analyst
About The Role
The Business Data Analyst at G.E.H.A will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s data-driven decision-making processes. This position involves identifying business challenges, gathering and analyzing requirements, and designing effective data solutions that align with G.E.H.A’s enterprise data strategy. The analyst will collaborate closely with stakeholders, developers, and data architects to ensure data solutions meet business needs, are thoroughly documented, and comply with audit standards. The role demands a proactive approach to data management, including reviewing business rules, creating detailed documentation, and supporting data ingestion, transformation, and sharing workflows. The Business Data Analyst will also contribute to the cloud data framework, ensuring that data processes are optimized for security, compliance, and organizational goals, all while supporting Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, business analysis, or healthcare industry analytics
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure Data tools or Snowflake Technologies
- Experience with Data Querying, Data Profiling, Data Transformation, and Data Reporting
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Knowledge of compliance, security, and regulatory requirements in healthcare data
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Cloud platform certifications such as Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks
- Experience with healthcare data environments
Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and document detailed business rules and data needs to ensure clarity and completeness
- Cook discussions with stakeholders and technical teams to capture use cases, requirements, and technical specifications
- Define and document data solutions in collaboration with developers and data architects to meet business needs
- Ensure all data solutions are approved by stakeholders and pass audit scrutiny before deployment
- Document data ingestion, transformation processes, workflows, data models, and classifications to create trusted data environments
- Maintain accurate and current documentation reflecting the state of data and addressing outstanding issues
- Support the implementation of the cloud data framework aligned with enterprise strategies and policies
- Validate that data processes and outputs fulfill documented business rules and requirements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and reviews
- Present technical and business documentation to stakeholders and team members
- Champion departmental standards for documentation, compliance, and audit readiness
- Conduct peer reviews of documentation and data models to ensure quality and consistency
- Create data models in collaboration with architects and developers based on solution decisions
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives
