Business/Computer Technology Instructor for Correctional Education

Business/Computer Technology Instructor position for the 2026-2027 school year at South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit.

About the role

This position reports directly to the Director of Correctional and Alternative Education or designee for supervision and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and instruction to assigned students.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of instruction (IPI).
• Prepare and submit reports as required.
• Provide learning support to assigned students.
• Keep staff abreast of students' programs.
• Develop and maintain updated student records and reports.
• Attend in-services and workshop meetings as required.
• Maintain care and inventory of books, supplies, etc., provided by the IU.
• Adhere to all Institutional and IU security, safety, and program requirements.
• Utilize technology for instructional and classroom management purposes.
• Report any problems or concerns to the Educational Director or designee.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Correctional and Alternative Education or designee.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively orally in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing using the English language.
• Ability to lift and carry 50-pound items.
• Ability to instruct Microsoft Office and other related computer applications.

Qualifications

Education: Possess a Pennsylvania Certificate for Instructional I or II, Business/Communication Information Technology Instructor Degree, or related Business/Computer degree.

Correctional education experience preferred.
