Business / Computer Technology Instructor

About the role

The Tuscarora Intermediate Unit invites applicants for a Business/Computer Technology Instructor at South Mountain Secure Treatment Unit for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities

• Provide training and instruction to assigned students.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of instruction (IPI).
• Prepare and submit reports as required.
• Provide learning support to the assigned students.
• Keep staff abreast of students' programs.
• Develop/maintain updated student records and reports.
• Attend in-services and workshop meetings, as required.
• Maintain the care and inventory of books, supplies, etc., provided by the IU.
• Adhere to all Institutional and IU security, safety and program requirements.
• Utilize technology for instructional and classroom management purposes.
• Report to the Educational Director or designee any problems or concerns which may arise.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Correctional and Alternative Education or designee.

Requirements

• Possess a Pennsylvania Certificate for Instructional I or II, Business/Communication Information Technology Instructor Degree or related Business/Computer degree.
• Preferred: Correctional education experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively orally in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pound items.
• Ability to instruct - Microsoft Office and other related computer applications.
