Business Banking Underwriter II

Huntington expects to accept applications through at least September 30, 2026, and may continue until the position is filled. This is an exempt, office-based role with potential for a flexible work arrangement combining in-office and remote work.

About the role

The Business Banking Underwriter II underwrites Business Banking loans to determine credit worthiness and compliance with Bank lending policy. This role supports Business Banking production by maintaining an individual pipeline of work and making sound credit decisions for loans with moderate complexity and customer exposure up to $2,500M.

Responsibilities

• Reviews all financial and credit application information to assess risk profile and make sound credit decisions.
• Utilizes single approval authority up to $2MM.
• Performs tasks as needed to support the line of business and job family.
• Handles other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3+ years’ experience with business or commercial underwriting in a centralized lending environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
• Ability to underwrite credit exposures in excess of $1MM.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other internet resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning, and follow-up.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without compromising quality.
• Highly motivated, focused, and goal-oriented with excellence in customer service.

Pay

The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including location, experience, and education. Eligible colleagues may also participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
