About the role

The Business Banking Underwriter II underwrites Business Banking loans to determine credit worthiness and compliance with Bank lending policy. This role supports Business Banking production by maintaining an individual pipeline of work and reviews all financial and credit application information to make sound credit decisions.

Credits typically include those with moderate complexity and customer exposure up to $2,500M. The role utilizes single approval authority up to $2MM and appropriately assesses the risk profile of borrowers.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews financial and credit application information to make sound credit decisions.
  • Manages an individual pipeline of work to support Business Banking production.
  • Assesses risk profile of borrowers with moderate complexity and exposure up to $2,500M.
  • Utilizes single approval authority for credits up to $2MM.
  • Performs additional tasks as needed to support the line of business and job family.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3+ years’ experience with business or commercial underwriting in a centralized lending environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field.
  • Ability to underwrite credit exposures in excess of $1MM.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and other internet resources.
  • Excellence in customer service; highly motivated, focused, and goal-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar and demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning, and follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without compromising quality.

Work Arrangement

This is an office-based role with a flexible work arrangement, combining in-office and work-from-home opportunities. Specific arrangements will be provided by the hiring team.

Huntington will not sponsor applicants for immigration benefits, including work authorization. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Pay

The compensation range for this position represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including location, experience, and education.

Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
