Business Banking Underwriter II
About the role
Business Banking Underwriter II positions are available at Key Bank. These roles are part of a team that analyzes credit information for both existing and prospective customers. The primary responsibility is to evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers to make a credit decision.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate applicant's credit needs, financial strength and other background information to determine if the request for credit is an acceptable risk.
- Assess industry risk, quality of management, market position and overall business climate to estimate future loan repayment capacity of businesses.
- Interpret cash flow, balance sheet, income statements, and tax returns (both personal and business) to determine credit worthiness.
- Use credit bureau data, credit scoring models, financial statements, and relevant additional financial information to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
- Effectively communicate credit decisions to team members and internal clients (branches, relationship managers, etc.).
- Comply with Key Bank internal policies, applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a preferred focus on business course work, or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience with commercial/small business lending is a plus.
- Familiarity with, and understanding of, traditional and automated commercial credit underwriting methodologies and their use is a plus.

- System experience with LIQ, CLS, Hogan, CEDesktop, Salesforce, nCino are all preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft products required.

- Must have a bachelor's degree.

Benefits
This position is eligible for a base salary ranging from $48,000.00 to $72,000.00 annually, with placement within the range varying based on various factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. Schedule
This role is a hybrid position, requiring 3+ days a week in the office.
Location
The role is located at 4224 Ridge Lea Road, Amherst, New York. This is a remote-friendly position with flexibility for working from home.
