Business Banker (LO) MD/VA/DC area Hiring Requisition

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager to support customers in an assigned market by deepening relationships and engaging in prospecting activities.

Responsibilities

• Source and onboard new business clients through strategic prospecting, community outreach, and internal referrals
• Build visibility and develop strong Centers of Influence (COIs) to support long-term relationship development
• Deepen existing relationships by understanding client priorities and proactively identifying opportunities for engagement and expansion
• Manage a moderately complex book of business
• Drive portfolio growth by increasing core deposit balances and identifying deepening opportunities
• Proactively manage risk exposure and ensure alignment with underwriting policies and risk guidelines
• Conduct comprehensive financial and credit assessments including cash flow, collateral, and business operating cycles
• Structure and support secured and unsecured credit solutions within delegated authority, coordinating with credit partners as needed
• Present credit recommendations and financial strategies to clients and internal stakeholders
• Recommend and deliver a full suite of Wells Fargo business banking products including credit, treasury management, and digital banking tools
• Tailor solutions to client operating cycles, cash flow needs, and strategic goals
• Collaborate with product teams and internal stakeholders to creatively solve client challenges and streamline processes
• Engage financial decision-makers with proactive communication and responsive service
• Provide actionable feedback to enhance tools and offerings that elevate client experience and operational excellence
• Retain and grow client relationships by advising on financial strategies and managing expectations with transparency and care

This position has customer contact and job duties which may include needs assessing and referring customers interested in a dwelling secured product to a SAFE team member. This position includes assisting customers without taking an application and without offering or negotiating terms of a dwelling secured transaction.

Requirements

• 2+ years of financial services, sales, or customer service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Qualifications

• 2+ years of in-branch business banking experience
• 1+ year of experience managing a dedicated book of small business customers across assigned territory
• Proficient with proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with customers and colleagues
• Experience using strong business acumen to provide financial services consultation to business customers
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of bank lending programs, credit policies, and specialty products
• High motivation with ability to successfully meet team objectives while maintaining individual performance
• Ability to manage expectations and conduct follow-ups with customers and Wells Fargo partners
• Customer service focus with experience handling complex transactions across multiple systems
• Knowledge and understanding of retail compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention
• Ability to educate and connect customer to technology and share the value of mobile banking options
• Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with customers and employees
• Experience mentoring and peer-coaching others
• Bilingual in additional language a plus

Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness, and criminal background standards.

Pay

$30.77 - $45.67 per hour. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
