About the role

itD is seeking a Business Analyst – Demand Forecasting to drive demand planning and forecasting for Company's Reality Labs AR/VR hardware portfolio, enabling accurate production planning, sales performance tracking, and data-driven business decisions. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in demand forecasting, business analytics, sales planning, and consumer hardware operations, with a proven track record of delivering accurate forecast models, actionable business insights, and measurable improvements in forecast accuracy.

Location: Burlingame, CA
Duration: 12 months

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain sell-through and sell-in demand forecasts for AR/VR headsets and wearable hardware products using quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Partner with Sales, Channel Operations, Category Management, Marketing, and Analytics teams to improve forecast accuracy and support strategic business initiatives.
  • Analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance for hardware products and accessories, identifying trends and forecasting future demand.
  • Perform actuals-versus-forecast variance analysis, identify root causes for performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Present forecast assumptions, business insights, and performance results to business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across Reality Labs.
  • Develop forecasting methodologies and analytical tools by evaluating large datasets, identifying trends, dependencies, and correlations to improve planning accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Channel Operations teams to influence inventory planning, production schedules, and product launch decisions.
  • Create executive-ready reports, dashboards, and presentations that communicate demand forecasts and business performance effectively.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material).
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in demand forecasting for hardware products, including consumer electronics or accessories.
  • 6+ years of experience in business strategy, finance, analytics, sales planning, or a related analytical function.
  • Experience building and maintaining sell-through and sell-in forecasting models.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, dependencies, and business insights.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace.
  • Experience performing forecast variance analysis and developing mitigation plans.
  • Experience presenting analytical findings and business recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a hands-on, execution-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting consumer hardware, AR/VR, wearables, or consumer electronics products.
  • Experience with demand planning, sales planning, inventory management, or supply chain forecasting.
  • Experience building executive dashboards and business reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with statistical forecasting techniques and predictive analytics.
  • Experience partnering with Sales, Marketing, Category Management, and Channel Operations organizations.
  • Experience supporting new product launches and production planning decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
