Business Analyst

About the role

The Business Analyst works on multiple projects at the same time that support the mission of the agency of improving outcomes for students. This position performs advanced, senior-level business analysis work. The business analyst serves as the conduit between the program/customer community and the software development team through which requirements flow. This position may support more than one project or be assigned to special projects at any time. This BA will be involved at some level throughout the entire software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Deriving requirements from interviews with customers and creating system requirements documents
• System Analysis and Design (including mockups and/or wireframes)
• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Business Process Reengineering
• Development of user stories and use cases

Requirements

• 5 years Required - Deriving requirements from interviews with customers and creating system requirements documents
• 5 years Required - System Analysis and Design (including mockups and/or wireframes)
• 5 years Required - Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• 4 years Required - Business Process Reengineering
• 3 years Preferred - Development of user stories and use cases
• 2 years Preferred - Strong communication, organization, and facilitation skills
• 2 years Preferred - Business Process Development
• 1 year Preferred - Experience with Azure DevOps or Modern Requirements
• 1 year Preferred - Experience with Atlassian Jira
• 1 year Preferred - Prior experience or familiarity with TEA applications and programs
• Experience with TEA applications and programs - Prior employment at a Texas public school district
