Business Analyst

About the Role

This long-term position involves reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs to align with overall business strategies. The role focuses on business process reengineering, identifying new technology applications, and improving business effectiveness through industry-standard process mapping and reengineering.

Responsibilities

• Formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies.
• Identify new applications of technology to solve business problems and improve effectiveness.
• Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and financial analyses (e.g., cost/benefit, ROI, buy/build).
• Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions, and steps for developing or modifying computer programs.
• Analyze and evaluate complex IT applications, policies, and business issues.
• Develop practical and innovative solutions to complex business and technical problems.
• Gather, organize, and analyze business data to recommend solutions.
• Maintain statistical and accounting records, producing reports and data summaries.
• Manage small-to-medium-sized projects, including creating work plans, schedules, and timelines.
• Prepare work estimates, track project progress, and report project status.
• Interpret laws, policies, procedures, and regulations (preferably Texas Vital Statistics).
• Read, interpret, and document policies while preparing reports and executive-level documentation.
• Build stakeholder relationships, facilitate discussions, negotiate, and resolve conflicts.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience interpreting laws, policies, procedures, and regulations (preferably Texas Vital Statistics).
• 8+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio).
• 8+ years of experience in project planning, coordination, and organization.
• 8+ years of experience applying business analysis methodologies.
• 8+ years of experience analyzing and evaluating complex IT applications, policies, and business issues.
• 8+ years of experience developing practical and innovative solutions to complex business and technical problems.
• 8+ years of excellent verbal and written communication skills with technical and business stakeholders.
• 8+ years of experience managing priorities, exercising independent judgment, organizing work, and coordinating team activities.
• 8+ years of experience building stakeholder relationships, facilitating discussions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts.
• 8+ years of experience reading, interpreting, and documenting policies while preparing reports and executive-level documentation.
• 8+ years of experience gathering, organizing, and analyzing business data to recommend solutions.
• 8+ years of experience maintaining statistical and accounting records and producing reports and data summaries.
• 8+ years of experience managing small-to-medium-sized projects.
• 8+ years of experience creating project work plans, schedules, and timelines.
• 8+ years of experience preparing work estimates, tracking project progress, and reporting project status.
