Business Analyst
Overview
This role will be remote with requirements to be in office 0 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Lead working sessions with stakeholders, SMEs, development teams, and external parties to define functional and non-functional requirements.
- Process and manage voluntary and mandatory events (e.g., dividends, stock splits, mergers, rights issues), ensuring timely, accurate execution.
- Analyse and interpret corporate action and income event announcements, calculate entitlements, update positions, and manage income flows.
- Liaise with custodians, brokers, and internal teams (tax, accounting, portfolio managers) to confirm event details and validation.
- Provide detailed reporting and notifications to portfolio managers and clients on upcoming corporate actions and related implications.
- Investigate and resolve client issues within agreed SLAs.
- Provide support during crisis or incident periods.
- Apply business-rule governed workflows, rigorous validation, and exception-based processing standards consistent with clients approach.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation of processes and system changes, aligned with regulatory standards.
About the candidate
- 4+ years experience in corporate actions and/or income event processing in capital markets or asset servicing firms
- Proven business analyst experience in financial services; strong domain expertise in announcements, entitlements, elections, and payments
- Hands-on experience capturing and documentation of business requirements (US/UK tax, entitlements, withholding claims)
- Technical familiarity with CAIP or similar systems; understanding of ISO 20022, SWIFT messaging
- Strong collaboration skills: liaising with custodians, brokers, accounting, and client teams
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-engagement abilities
