Business Analyst
About the role
We are seeking a Business Analyst who will support our NYS client with the planning, analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of business and technology initiatives for Universal Child Care Consulting and Implementation Support Services. The Business Analyst will collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical resources to document requirements, analyze business processes, maintain traceability, and help ensure delivered solutions align with program objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle, from project initiation through implementation and post-production support.
- Elicit, analyze, document, validate, and prioritize business, functional, technical, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions.
- Develop and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, and workflows.
- Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, and testing teams to support solution design, implementation, and deployment.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure shared understanding of business needs and project objectives.
- Identify and communicate business impacts, assumptions, dependencies, issues, and risks.
- Support backlog grooming, scope management, project governance, and change request activities.
- Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect management, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Assist with training materials, business procedures, end-user documentation, knowledge transfer, transition, change management, and implementation readiness activities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting business and technology initiatives.
- Experience eliciting, analyzing, documenting, validating, and managing business, functional, technical, and reporting requirements.
- Experience developing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, workflows, and requirements traceability documentation.
- Experience conducting stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements gathering sessions.
- Experience supporting business process modeling, current-state and future-state analysis, and process improvement activities.
- Experience supporting system implementation or modernization projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, architects, developers, and testing teams.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect management, and validation of delivered functionality.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Proficiency with JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite, and Visio.
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, and facilitation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
- CBAP, CCBA, ECBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent Business Analysis certification preferred.

Pay
Hourly Rate: W2 $60 - $90/hr
