About the role
This individual will be expected to participate in the following activities:
- Analyze system documentation and system artifacts to develop an understanding of the associated business process.
- Elicit business system requirements using one or more of the following methods: analyze current processes, interview users, conduct group meetings, review/analyze existing documentation or system artifacts.
- Document and analyze 'as is' and 'to be' business processes.
- Develop or maintain high-level and detailed system requirements in the form of clear business requirements documents, context diagrams, process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and use cases.
- Develop or maintain test plans and detailed test cases.
- Develop or maintain user acceptance testing plans and help desk support guides.
- Develop detailed functional and system tests from documented system requirements.
- Ensure appropriate test coverage by mapping system requirements to test cases.
- Develop or contribute to the development of regression tests and/or user acceptance tests.
- Execute functional and system tests, including regression tests.
- Participate in user acceptance testing.
- Identify and document application defects and track to resolution, performing retesting as required.
- Identify and document deficiencies in system documentation (e.g., missing or ambiguous requirements) identified during the testing process.
- Respond and work-through incident tickets submitted by users of business applications.
Responsibilities
- Elicit business requirements from business customers or system artifacts and maintain such requirements.
- Develop business requirements and process documentation such as use cases, process flows, screen mock-ups, and data dictionaries.
- Create test plans and test cases, execute functional and system tests (including regression testing) and ensure requirement traceability.
- Identify and document application defects, track defects to resolution, and perform retesting as required.
- Identify and document deficiencies in system documentation (e.g., missing or ambiguous requirements) identified during the testing process.
- Respond and work-through incident tickets submitted by users of business applications.
Qualifications
- 84 months experience eliciting business requirements from business customers or system artifacts and maintaining such requirements.
- 84 months experience developing business requirements and process documentation such as use cases, process flows, screen mock-ups, and data dictionaries.
- 84 months experience creating test plans and test cases, executing functional and system tests (including regression testing) and ensuring requirement traceability.
- 84 months identifying and documenting application defects, tracking defects to resolution, and performing retesting as required.
- 24 months experience with systems related to criminal justice processing (including but not limited to: statistical reporting, disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history updating, Sex Offender management, tracking of Wanted/Missing persons, or other applications utilized by law enforcement).
