Bus Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor (Meadowbrook/South Salt lake)
Directly supervises complete maintenance of assigned vehicle fleet including scheduled (i.e. preventive maintenance) and unscheduled repairs, cleaning and servicing. Schedules maintenance personnel and coordinates work activities. Plans preventative maintenance schedule and monitors tasks to ensure that vehicle fleet operates safely and reliably. Observes repair work and evaluates skill level of assigned staff. Assesses qualifications of staff and arranges for training in proper repair methods as needed. Trains and/or arranges staff updates on technological changes to equipment and repair techniques. Resolves labor relations issues in accordance with labor contracts.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance personnel and work activities for vehicle fleet.
- Plan and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to ensure safe and reliable fleet operation.
- Evaluate staff skill levels and arrange training on repair methods and technological updates.
- Resolve labor relations issues in accordance with labor contracts.
- Operate a PC using JDE, Citrix operating systems, and vehicle diagnostic software.
- Analyze and evaluate data related to fleet maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Five years of mechanic work experience with demonstrated knowledge of Heavy Duty Diesel mechanical, electrical, and electronic repair techniques.
- One year of supervisory or lead experience in Heavy Duty Diesel mechanical/electrical/electronic repairs.
- Thorough understanding of leadership, supervision, training, motivation, and coaching principles.
- Intermediate skill level using Excel and beginning skill level using Word; may be required to pass competency tests.
- Ability to acquire and maintain CDL and DOT card prior to start date.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years; no more than 1 DUI violation in the last 10 years.
- Ability to acquire forklift certification within probationary period.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- Good previous job performance (evaluated based on attendance, absences, and disciplinary actions over the last two years).

Pay
$91,004.16 Annually
Schedule
This is a 24/7 garage. Shift and days off will be discussed during the in-person interview and are subject to change. After completing training, supervisors typically rotate shifts annually, including day, swing, and grave shifts based on business needs.
