Pay Grade: 302 • Minimum $14.44/hour, midpoint $17.39/hour • 178-day work year

About the Role

Ride buses and assist the driver to provide safe and orderly transportation of students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Follow verbal instructions from the driver and dispatch.
• Operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment on the bus.
• Assist students with disabilities during boarding, riding, and exiting the bus.
• Perform emergency evacuation procedures, including climbing in and out of the school-bus emergency door.
• Maintain effective control over groups of students while ensuring their safety.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
• Must maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands & Environmental Factors

• Frequent walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
• Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds).
• Work both inside and outside the bus.
• Exposure to machinery with moving parts, vehicles, moderate heat, and vehicle fumes.
