Bus Driver - After School

About the role

The YMCA of Greenville is seeking a Bus Driver to join their team. This position involves transporting children and counselors to and from schools or field trips, and acting as a role model.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport children and counselors to and from schools or field trips.
• Act as a role model by maintaining promptness, manners, language, appearance, and health.
• Maintain equipment to ensure the safety of participants.
• Communicate with supervisors about any equipment needs.
• Return the bus to its designated place clean and free of belongings.
• Maintain accurate records including trip and mileage logs.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Complete required abuse risk management training.
• Follow procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
• Follow mandated reporting requirements.
• Adhere to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Requirements

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver’s License with the ability to operate a 14 passenger mini-bus - with preference given to those holding a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Qualifications

Preference will be given to individuals who have:

• Experience driving a 14 passenger mini-bus.
• A background in child care or youth development.
• Previous experience working with groups of children.
