Bulk Truck Logistics Coordinator

About the role

This position is responsible for scheduling freight and servicing customers of liquid food and feed ingredients in North America, with a focus on product manufactured in Upper Sandusky, OH. The role concentrates on bulk truck freight methods to achieve the most efficient, cost‑effective, reliable, and quality transportation while ensuring shipment timing meets the needed cadence for optimal inventory levels. Responsibilities include developing key relationships with carriers to maintain or improve competitive position, negotiating and managing freight contracts, performing reporting tasks, communicating documents with customers, and handling other customer‑service needs.

Responsibilities

• Generate load numbers for customer orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Schedule orders with carriers and maintain schedule changes
• Prepare and organize paperwork needed for shipments
• Ticket application for multiple products, freight matching, and filing
• Communicate professionally with customers to coordinate deliveries in a timely manner
• Contribute to inventory management of LDC products (warehouse/tanks/containers etc.)
• Coordinate quality requirements and issues from customers with LDC lab and operations team
• Assist with setting up carriers and maintaining documents and certificates
• Utilize multiple systems to maintain carrier and freight information to assist with coordinating logistics for multiple products for inbound and outbound shipments
• Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, forwarders, and warehousing providers as needed
• Communicate with Quality and Food Safety team to ensure compliance with statutory and internal practices
• Work with sales staff to ensure they have competitive transportation rates to accurately quote business for customers and manage existing business lanes
• Communicate with sales team any info helpful to determine pricing, freight risk awareness, and customer performance concerns
• Develop competence in LDC products’ markets, product qualities, and transportation needs
• Contribute to group discussions to improve processes and look for ways to elevate the business

Qualifications

Education & experience

• Associate Degree in supply chain, industrial management, business, finance, or economics or 2 years’ experience in oilseeds, logistics, or supply chain management
• Preferred: Shipping liquid food‑grade products or freight‑forwarding experience
• Preferred: Understanding of transport equipment for bulk shipments (isotanks, flexibags, tank trailers, etc.)
• Preferred: Understanding of Incoterms

Working conditions

Primarily climate‑controlled office environment. Periodic visits to industrial operations areas are necessary with exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions. Interacts closely with personnel in other departments and company locations. Extension of regular working hours or weekend work occasionally needed to complete time‑sensitive work or respond to emergencies. Typical office equipment: PC, telephone.
