Building Official

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dedicated Building Official to oversee all aspects of building department services including plan review, inspection, and code enforcement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and building codes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plan review process for all building permits
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with building codes
• Enforce local building codes and regulations
• Review and approve applications for building permits
• Provide technical assistance to applicants and contractors
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code violations
• Prepare reports and documentation as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building department services
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications

• Experience with construction management software

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually
