Building Monitor

About the role

North County Recreation Center is seeking a reliable and proactive Building Monitor to join our team. The Building Monitor will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our visitors. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with the public, ensuring safety, and helping maintain facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Facility Supervision: Oversee the building to ensure a safe and secure environment for all visitors.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, giving directions, and assisting patrons with various needs.
• Security & Safety: Monitor the premises for any safety hazards or inappropriate behavior. Report any incidents or emergencies immediately.
• Building Maintenance: Ensure the facility is clean and orderly, including restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Report maintenance issues to the appropriate staff.
• Event Support: Help set up and break down for events, and assist with any logistical needs.
• Communication: Maintain communication with the Facility Manager and other team members to report issues, schedule changes, and any other important information.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies and follow proper protocols in case of medical or safety incidents.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle situations calmly and effectively, especially during emergencies
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
• Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
• Must pass a background check

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $15.00

Schedule

Hours vary depending on active programs during facility operation hours, including Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons/evenings, and potentially Saturdays or Sundays depending on room rentals.
