About the role
Responsible for performing repair and preventative maintenance to shop equipment and building facilities. Documents all maintenance and repairs, keeps adequate parts stock and building supplies. Provides support to production staff in troubleshooting and repairing equipment and building maintenance to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Performs and manages preventative maintenance and repairs on all capital equipment, including operational support equipment such as forklifts and backhoes.
- Performs electrical and HVAC installations and repairs.
- Maintains company facilities, addressing structural and equipment issues.
- Performs repairs, works with subcontractors, and provides improvement recommendations as needed.
- Supports and assists with large capital installation and/or repair projects.
- Assists management with special repair, maintenance, and facility projects.
- Keeps management informed of important developments, potential problems, or areas of concern related to facilities, production equipment, or other necessary areas.
- Coordinates and communicates plans and schedules for repairs.
- Uses Filemaker to order parts and supplies for machinery and building.
- Maintains a positive image for the company.
- Performs miscellaneous shop duties and other duties as required.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Two years of post-secondary education with an emphasis on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc., or equivalent work-related experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, organizational, and analytical skills.
Physical Demands
- Lift 50+ lbs. repeatedly and frequently throughout an 8-to-10-hour day.
- Work while standing for an entire shift.
