About the role

Under limited supervision, you will maintain and repair a wide range of building and mechanical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant operation. Weekend and shift work is required, along with rapid response to emergencies while following safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, automation, medical gas, fire protection, energy management, and work-order management systems.
  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, air-handling equipment, variable-frequency drives, and remote terminal units.
  • Lead or participate in maintenance of ceilings, walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, furniture, framework, drywall, locks, elevators, stairways, and building interiors/exteriors.
  • Log equipment performance readings and daily system readings as assigned.
  • Review and complete work orders by type and priority.
  • Perform preventive maintenance measures and maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.
  • Train personnel and ensure supplies are available to keep all structures in good repair.
  • Stay current with building maintenance practices through education, professional publications, networking, and organizational participation.
  • Make initial repair determinations and refer extensive repairs to appropriate technicians.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocols.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • 6 years of experience maintaining commercial/industrial building systems.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license and minimum age of 21 (due to insurance regulations).
  • Ability to work under stressful situations, think quickly, and display positive emotional behavior and social skills with coworkers, vendors, customers, and patients.
