About the role

Building Information Modeling Coordinator responsible for 3D computer modeling of buildings' electrical, mechanical, piping, and plumbing systems for coordination, clash detection, and fabrication. Work uses specifications provided by clients, operators, consultants, and architects, following industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage 3D models of MEP systems for coordination and clash detection.
  • Transition between multiple software platforms such as AutoCAD MEP, Fabrication CAD MEP, Navisworks, and Revit.
  • Comprehend multiple disciplines of construction documents, including submittals, IOMs, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Use problem-solving skills to address modeling and coordination issues.
  • Work in a team environment to meet project deadlines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate’s Degree/Certification in Construction, Drafting, or Engineering, or Journeyman’s/Master's License in trade encouraged.
  • AutoCAD or Revit experience required.
  • Ability to use 3D modeling software.
  • Background in Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing code preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must pass a drug test and background check.
  • Reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in Construction or trade preferred but not required.
  • Experience with prefabrication is a plus.
  • Training available for transitioning between software platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Desire to learn, set goals, meet deadlines, and be a self-starter.
