Building Enclosure Department Manager
What You’ll Do
Lead and grow a department focused on Building Enclosure services
Drive strategic business development initiatives and expand ECS’s presence within the local market
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, architects, inspectors, and technical staff
Manage departmental operations, staffing, utilization, and financial performance, including P&L responsibility
Oversee projects involving:
Building envelope and enclosure evaluations
Roof and waterproofing assessments
Moisture and water intrusion investigations
Property condition assessments (PCA)
Forensic investigations and failure analysis
Structural evaluations and related design work
Code compliance inspections and plan review services
Review technical reports, proposals, scopes, and deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and clients
Support project management efforts including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture (NCARB), or a related field
- 8+ years of related experience with building enclosure consulting, including field investigations, testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments
- Licensed or certified in at least one of the following (preferred but not required): Professional Engineer (P.E.), Registered Architect (R.A.), IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP), University of Wisconsin-Madison certifications (BECxP, CxA+BE)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds multiple times per day
- Stand for extended periods
- Walk on uneven terrain
- Perform work at heights
