About the role

The BAS Controls Technician II position plays a crucial role in ensuring top-notch service for commercial digital control systems. This includes installation, programming, and service of BAS, maintenance agreements, system upgrades, and controls-related service requests.

Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive and professional customer service to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
  • Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
  • Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
  • Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
  • Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
  • Train and follow up with customers and operations personnel.
  • Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy.
  • Continually seek ways to improve processes and serve customers effectively.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry.
  • Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
  • Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals.
  • Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Ability to understand written sequences of operation.
  • Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
  • Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
  • Experience with common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL.
  • Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player.
  • Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.

Benefits

The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $37.90 - $60.46 in MD/DC. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
