About the role
The BAS Controls Technician II position plays a crucial role in ensuring top-notch service for customers through the installation, programming, and service of commercial digital control systems. This position is essential for maintaining quality and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and professional customer service to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers.
- Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming.
- Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians.
- Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects.
- Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications.
- Train and follow up with customers and operations personnel.
- Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy.
- Continually seek ways to improve processes and serve customers effectively.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation.
Qualifications
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry.
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools.
- Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals.
- Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls.
- Ability to understand written sequences of operation.
- Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams.
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification.
- Experience with common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL.
- Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player.
- Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.
- Current first aid / CPR card.

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $37.90 - $60.46 in MD/DC.
