About the role
The BAS Controls Technician II position plays a crucial role in ensuring top-notch service for commercial digital control systems. This includes installation, programming, and service of BAS, maintenance agreements, system upgrades, and controls-related service requests.
Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and professional customer service to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
- Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
- Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
- Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
- Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
- Train and follow up with customers and operations personnel
- Complete work orders and review with customers for accuracy
- Continually seek ways to improve processes and serve customers effectively
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs with or without accommodation
Qualifications
- Factory Certified Training, Online Training Courses, or other professional on-the-job training in the HVAC Industry

Skills
- Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
- Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
- Competency in operation of engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet protocol fundamentals
- Competency in the operation of HVAC equipment and controls
- Ability to understand written sequences of operation
- Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and controls flow diagrams
- Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
- Experience with common integration protocols such as: BACnet MST / IP, LON, Modbus TCP / RTU, Ethernet OIP, MQTT, or SQL
- Strong computer skills, including computer networking fundamentals
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-focused, results-oriented professional, and strong team player
- Motivated self-starter that demonstrates initiative
- Able to manage multiple priorities and stay organized

Pay
The typical hourly pay rate for this position ranges from $37.90 - $60.46 in MD/DC. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
