Budget Analyst II - Phoenix Convention Center

About the role
This Budget Analyst II position collaborates closely with department management and supervisory staff to develop and monitor the Convention Center's operating and capital improvement budgets. The role also supervises fiscal accounting staff and oversees the department's accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Strong communication skills are essential for working effectively across all levels of the organization.

Requirements
- Three years of experience in governmental budgetary and finance activities
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics, or related field
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted
- All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable
- Working with budget software
- Expense and revenue forecasting
- Preparing complex budget documents for multiple funding sources
- Supervising professional and/or paraprofessional accounting staff
- Evaluating expenditure estimates and recommending necessary adjustments
- Experience with SAP

- Knowledge of budgetary and financial software and systems

Pay
Pay Range: $76,294.40 - $107,348.80 annually.
Hiring Range: $76,294.40 - $102,232 annually.
The pay range represents the entire compensation range for the position classification. The hiring range is an estimate of where an offer may be made. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
- Promotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade increase.
- Demotions occur when the last two digits of the pay grade decrease.
- Lateral transfers occur when there is no change to the last two digits of the pay grade.
- When there is a change in the first digit of the pay grade, there may also be a change to classification or unit.
