Budget Analyst - Colorado Springs CO

About the role

The Budget Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial models, analyzing budget data, and providing financial insights to support decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models using Excel and other tools
• Analyze budget data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial strategies
• Support cost-benefit analysis and forecasting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis or related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling software
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Knowledge of budgeting and financial planning principles
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Skills

• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and pivot tables
• Experience with financial modeling software such as Cognos, Hyperion, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
