Budget Analyst

About the role

BAI, a defense contractor, is seeking a Budget Analyst with 3+ years of experience to support the analysis of budget and accounting reports at Contractor and Government sites in Patuxent River, MD, and Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities

• Examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations
• Analyze budgeting and accounting reports
• Perform all functional duties independently, self-starter
• Show working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
• Show working knowledge and use of FMS financial policies and procedures
• Show working knowledge and use of Department of Defense (DoD) Financial Management Regulations (FMR)
• Show working knowledge and use of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
• Show working knowledge and use of Planning, Program, Budgeting, Execution (PPBE) process
• Show working knowledge and use of DoN procurement policies and procedures
• Show working knowledge and use of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Case documents
• Show working knowledge and use of Obligation and expenditure phasing plans
• Show working knowledge and use of Navy Enterprise Resources Planning (NERP)
• Show working knowledge and use of Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS)
• Show working knowledge and use of Management Information System for International Logistics (MISIL)
• Show working knowledge and use of other DoN financial automated accounting & budgeting systems

Requirements

• 3 to 10 years of experience performing duties described in the functional description
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening—for staff, customer, and organizational level communications, both formal and informal

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or Associate’s Degree plus two (2) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree or Four (4) years additional work experience performing duties described in the functional description of the labor category may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree

Benefits

Salary The typical annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 USD to $96,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
