BSA Compliance Specialist
Key Responsibilities
Aid the AML/CFT Officer in managing the Bank’s AML/CFT and OFAC compliance program.
Maintain and update AML/CFT/OFAC policies and procedures, and related risk assessments.
Answer AML/CFT/OFAC questions and analyze issues.
Assist in preparing draft Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
Maintain accurate and complete supporting documentation.
Escalate potential suspicious activity to the AML/CFT Officer.
Monitoring, Reporting & Investigations
Review system reports for CTR and SAR filings.
Review alerts generated by associate referrals or automated monitoring software.
Analyze activity to identify potential suspicious activity.
Prepare draft Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs).
Ensure accurate and complete supporting documentation.
Escalate potential suspicious activity to the AML/CFT Officer.
Customer Due Diligence & OFAC Support
Administer CDD/EDD risk rating and monitoring program.
Expand monitoring of higher-risk customers.
Review and update customer risk ratings and profiles.
Perform OFAC screening reviews.
Support monitoring of higher-risk customers and accounts.
Training, Testing & Audit Support
Support internal audits and independent testing.
Track audit and exam findings, corrective actions, and follow-up items.
Participate in internal reviews and quality control processes.
Participate in regulatory exam preparation and examiner interactions.
Maintain working knowledge of AML/CFT and OFAC laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Reporting & Governance Support
Compile data for periodic AML/CFT reports to management and the Board.
Prepare summaries, metrics, and tracking logs.
Support SAR tracking and related reporting requirements.
Development & Succession
Build knowledge of AML/CFT and OFAC regulations.
Participate in regulatory exam preparation.
Shadow and support the AML/CFT Officer in higher-level responsibilities.
Gradually assume expanded responsibilities based on performance and readiness.
