Broadband Technician - Per Diem + $2,000 Sign On Bonus

ITC offers managed services and workforce solutions for nationwide planning, design, construction, installation, and maintenance of voice, data, and video networks.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers effectively and professionally
• Read mainframe/cross-connect/control point layouts to run jumpers
• Read, understand, and follow instructions on dispatched jobs, trouble tickets, project prints, throw and sequence sheets, and associated record updates
• Utilize test equipment and interpret test results for all workstreams
• Perform basic electricity tasks and xDSL (Digital Subscriber Line) installations, including configuration of customer-owned computers and internet access education
• Connect fiber optic jumpers and drops (aerial, buried, and plenum)
• Install and troubleshoot telephone service (VOIP or Copper), routers, home networking, internet hubs, ONT, and power supplies
• Install aerial drops, including running or reusing COAX or CAT 5 wiring, and utilizing MOCA or Wi-Fi technology
• Work with fiber and copper facilities, including knowledge of COAX cable sizes/types and installing connectors
• Adhere to OSHA safety requirements, ladder safety, and work zone requirements
• Perform pole climbing and splicing of fiber drop connectors
• Install and repair stations (Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat6, RJ11, RJ45 jacks, drop, and NID)
• Understand technical concepts such as loss, attenuation, and tiling, and apply the telephony color code to identify assigned cable pairs
• Verify service and place wires between walls when required
• Bury CAT5/coax up to 50 ft and run temporary fiber drops without creating safety hazards
• Work within attics or crawl spaces
• Use workforce management systems, including Mobile Tech Portal and associated task clearing codes

• Must have your own vehicle and tools
• Necessary computer skills and Android platform mobile device application usage
• Experience with test sets as required
