Bridge Section Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Bridge Section Manager who will take responsibility for the operations of the bridge section, including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control, and active marketing. The ideal candidate will function as a Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects while also managing these responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for operations of the bridge section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control in an active marketing capacity
• Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
• Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions and lead and coordinate services with other sections
• Active leader in marketing planning, proposals and interviews
• Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues
• Ensure all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through proactive project management system
• Implement, monitor, and support company policy
• Select, hire, train, develop and manage bridge technical personnel
• Manage and develop multidiscipline teams for delivery of bridge projects
• Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
• Participate in Area and Regional Bridge Coordination and Work Share meetings
• Develop staffing projections by forecasting future workload
• Perform other duties as needed

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Experience working with the Florida Department of Transportation, especially FDOT District 2
• Bridge Rehabilitation, Inspection & Load Rating experience
• Active in Industry Organizations
• Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: Bentley Open Bridge Designer & Open Bridge Modeler, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrD & BrR, LARSA 4D, midas Civil, SAP2000, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, CSiCol, LUSAS

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the Florida Department of Transportation, especially FDOT District 2
• Bridge Rehabilitation, Inspection & Load Rating experience
• Active in Industry Organizations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 10 years experience
• Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
