About the role

Emory University, School of Medicine, and affiliated hospitals have position openings in their Breast Imaging fellowship for July 2027. Fellows will be integrated into the Emory Breast Health Care Team, which includes various specialists and support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary breast conferences at all hospitals where they rotate.
  • Interpret screenings and diagnostic mammograms, including digital tomosynthesis.
  • Perform and interpret breast ultrasound exams and breast MRIs.
  • Gain proficiency in breast interventional procedures including localization, biopsy, abscess drainage, and cryoablation.
  • Gain exposure to contrast mammography and breast cryoablation.
  • Use digital mammography with tomosynthesis at Emory Breast Imaging Centers.
  • Utilize other equipment such as stereotactic biopsy tables, vacuum-assisted and automated breast biopsy devices, and ultrasound with elastography capability.
  • Employ radioactive seed and radiofrequency marker placement at the Emory Breast Imaging Centers.
  • Teach medical students and residents.
  • Engage in research opportunities and allocate time to approved projects.

Requirements

  • Completed or scheduled to complete an ACGME (American) or RCPSC (Canadian) accredited diagnostic radiology residency prior to July 1 of the fellowship year.
  • Hold an MD degree or equivalent.
  • Meet requirements for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.

Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants must demonstrate empathy and practice evidence-based patient care.
  • Must have completed or be scheduled to complete an ACGME (American) or RCPSC (Canadian) accredited diagnostic radiology residency prior to July 1 of the fellowship year.
  • Must hold an MD degree or equivalent.
  • Must meet requirements for medical licensure in the state of Georgia.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $XXX - $YYY based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional weekend and evening shifts as needed.
