About the role

This position involves leading music and arts programs within The Salvation Army corps, planning and implementing curriculum, and organizing musical performances and community activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and other arts programs as assigned within the corps.
• Plan and implement weekly music lessons for assigned classes.
• Attend and prepare for all corps recitals and music programs for summer concerts.
• Encourage participants to achieve goals and develop musical abilities.
• Organize and participate in summer camps to enhance participants' talents and decision-making.
• Help plan and assist with summer music day camps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• A minimum of two years' music experience working with children/adults.
• Demonstrated proficiency in music theory and a primary instrument.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• A positive attitude and ability to be flexible.
