About the role

The Brand Packaging Coordinator contributes to the efficient workflow of developing packaging artwork, from creative development, information gathering and artwork review, through delivery of final artwork and prepress.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages assigned projects and/or department data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements.
  • Conducts data entry and data management for various department projects.
  • Assists with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans.
  • Reviews artwork for adherence to specifications, brand guidelines, and supporting documentation.
  • Communicates and coordinates with all levels of Branding & Packaging (BAP) team and cross-functional departments such as Engineering, Label Compliance, and Translation, as well as other internal stakeholders and external parties to gather information necessary for development of creative briefs.
  • Organizes job details, tracks milestones, and proactively raises questions and solutions as needed within the packaging development process.
  • Participates in the development of product packaging design from creative briefs through production, with the support of the BAP Manager and Sr. Analysts.
  • Liaises with creative and production agencies, and photographers to coordinate creative development.
  • Reviews and comments on artwork, proof against brand guidelines, initiatives, and packaging content.
  • Consolidates feedback from a variety of stakeholders into clear direction for external partners with the support and direction of the BAP Manager.
  • Applies critical thinking skills to proactively raise questions and propose solutions to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Completes accurate data entry and tracking for all assigned projects and products, and creates BAP-related reports.
  • Collects and organizes data to assist team members with other projects as assigned, such as drafting process documents and production notes.
  • Enters product and artwork information into Lidl US systems and actively addresses questions.
  • Conducts research relating to design development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in a related field will meet the education and related experience requirements.
  • Experience in or fundamental knowledge of brand building, brand architecture, and packaging design in the private label or national brand environment.

Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace tools and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of consumer/market trends in the retail/grocery field.
  • Understanding of the implementation of primary and secondary packaging.
  • General to intermediate understanding of printing techniques.
  • General to intermediate understanding of packaging components, structures, and materials.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and general design principles.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills and attention to detail (preferred).
  • Strong project management and time management skills (preferred).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills (preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Docs/Word, Sheets/Excel, Slides/PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat (preferred).

Physical Job Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
