Branch Supervisor

Essential Functions

• Oversees staff and volunteer supervision and training.
• Manages collection development for both children’s and adults’ sections.
• Responsible for reference and public service areas.
• Plans, prepares, and implements programming for children, young adults, and adults.
• Manages library/community development; attends relevant meetings.
• Supervises building management and reports facility issues.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of public library operations.
• Knowledge of long-range planning, budgeting, and program evaluation.
• Leadership, management, and human resources principles.
• Philosophy, objectives, and methods of municipal library administration.
• Budgeting procedures and capital project management.
• Library technology and community needs.
• Interpretation and application of library policy.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Minimum of three years of progressive professional library experience.
