Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensures acceptable quality and service are received throughout various banking processes by conferring with customers and by periodically participating in various processes.
  • Supports and monitors sales processes.
  • Implements bank business plan by planning, developing, directing, and reviewing financial policies and practices of the bank to ensure regulatory compliance, financial objectives, goals, and institutional growth are achieved.
  • Maintains commercial loan portfolio. Serves as a member of the loan committee. May chair the committee in the absence of the chairman.
  • Directs activities of bank management personnel by conducting performance appraisals, training, handling problems and discipline, and making administrative decisions regarding unique situations. Oversees that goals are met on the sales program.
  • Maintains current industry knowledge by reading various publications and correspondence. Participates in product pricing and marketing of the bank's products.
  • Attends bank president meetings and completes projects and presentations as requested.
  • Participates in civic and community organizations, representing the bank, but following personal interests. Promotes the bank whenever possible.

Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of finance, investments, and lending practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of accounting and economic practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of bank operations and workflow.
  • Knowledge of management practices and principles.
  • Skill in operating computer terminals and various office equipment.
  • Skill in communicating with co-workers and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Skill in problem solving.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand.
  • Ability to create an efficient work environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player.

Education and Experience

  • College degree preferred
  • Prefers 10 years banking experience and 5 years management experience.
